Conversion and Trust Blockers

1. Lack of trust signals across listings.

Listings provide minimal credibility indicators (no ratings, verification, or social proof).

Impact: Users hesitate to engage or complete transactions.

2. Unstructured and inconsistent listing quality.

No enforced structure leads to:

  • missing key details

  • poor readability

  • inconsistent formats

Impact: Increased cognitive load for buyers.

Friction + Inefficiency

1. Posting flow lacks guidance.

Users are not guided on:

  • what makes a good listing

  • what information is required

Impact: Poor listing quality + user frustration.

2. Weak categorization clarity.

Category selection is ambiguous and error-prone.

Impact: Misplaced listings reduce discoverability.

UX Polish Issues

1. Weak progress feedback.

Limited reinforcement of how close the user is to posting a listing.

Impact: Confusion or frustration for new users.

2. Outdated visual hierarchy.
Important information is not emphasized effectively.

Impact: Confusion or frustration for users.

Recommendations

Project Conclusion

Craigslist prioritizes simplicity and flexibility, but this comes at the cost of trust, clarity, and consistency. Introducing lightweight structure and trust signals would significantly improve user confidence and transaction success rates.
